Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a progressive manufacturing environment where your work means bringing clear sight to our patients? Shopko Optical is seeking Production Specialists to join our team at our manufacturing facility in De Pere, Wisconsin.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist Maintenance Manager with the day-to-day operations of the department’s functions

and duties. Coordinate the maintenance of all optical equipment in a timely, efficient and

detailed manner. Provide quality service to the Optical Lab. Train Maintenance

Technicians as well as coordinate their daily work activities. Enance


OPERATIONS

• Ensure Optical Lab equipment installations, maintenance and repairs are

completed accurately, efficiently and at the most opportune time

• Ensure accuracy of maintenance paperwork and record keeping

• Plan preventive maintenance to ensure timely completion

• Schedule adequate coverage to limit wait times for Lab

• Ensure all areas of the Optical Lab facility and grounds are properly maintained

• Follow proper procedures when Optical Lab facility issues are reported

• Perform equipment maintenance duties alongside maintenance department

teammates


TRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT

• Ensure maintenance department teammates have received applicable Optical Lab

training to perform all aspects of their job including safe and efficient maintenance

operations in addition to work and safety procedures as outlined in their respective

job description

• Ensure maintenance team is up to date on product and part availability

• Attend vendor seminars for repair and preventive maintenance training on all new

and automated equipment

• Engage in on-going training along with maintenance team to diagnose a variety of

equipment related issues.

• Provide manager with input for teammate’s performance reviews and

development plans

• Partner with teammates in maintenance department to give performance feedback

• Recommend or implement measures to motivate teammates and to improve

morale, production methods, efficiency, equipment performance, productivity and

product quality


MAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ensure teammates follow all Optical Lab and company policies and adhere to

safety related guidelines and OSHA regulations

• Ensure machinery is operating safely and effectively

• Perform stretching before reporting to workstation


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Graduate or GED

• Minimum 2 years of previous related experience in optical (eyewear)

manufacturing, retail or other relevant leadership experience

• Preferably 3 years of experience with optical lab equipment, manufacturing

equipment maintenance or similar field

• Demonstrated hands on leadership capability

• Exceptional organizational skills

• Sound decision-making ability

• Professional written and oral communication skills

• Interpersonal skills

• Ability to problem solve in a professional and timely manner

• Critical thinking and analytical skills

• Detail oriented

• Self-motivated

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written

and two-way verbal communication

• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various Optical Lab equipment and office equipment

• Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing,

reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis

• Ability to lift an average of 25-35 pounds on a repetitive basis and up to 75 pounds

• Ability to climb to heights up to 50 feet

• Ability to operate a pallet jack and high reach lift (training provided)

• Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)

• Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness

• Ability to grip and hold items

• Good eye and hand coordination

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

• Ability to perform work in various departments within the lab based on business

needs

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours

to meet established deadlines

• Able to travel independently to support company objectives and personal

development (occasional airline travel is required)
