The major functions of this position is:
To ensure all Maui Jim Rx product is manufactured to the highest of quality standards, exceeding customer expectations.
Salary Range: $56,000 to $65,000
Shift: Monday through Thursday (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM)
Essential Duties:
  • To continually seek improvement in every aspect of the position and departmental functions. Identify and solve problems, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Monitor the workflow through the Rx QA department including Final Inspection and RX Production Coordinator, as well as the productivity of each task. Supervise resources to achieve consistency and maximum quality.
  • Track and monitor the attendance of the Rx QA staff including vacations, over-time, and absences. Verify attendance is accurately documented.
  • Complete annual performance reviews and goal setting within team. Assist in growth and development of team.
  • Manage employee issues including hiring, corrective actions, maintaining department standards and Company policies.
  • Follow lab guidelines for ANSI standards and Maui Jim quality control guidelines to ensure that all Rx jobs meet the criteria before shipping.
  • Train Rx QA team to follow guidelines and proper reporting procedures to address issues and to achieve goals.
  • Work with all lab supervisors to correct quality control issues that occur and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and research redoes issues to identify areas of concern for Lab, warranty and Dr redos.
  • Maintain adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Evaluate redo & breakage data to communicate areas of improvement.
  • Work with Supervisor, Rx Customer Care to evaluate and communicate redo issues. Document in the order and provide appropriate codes for reference.
  • Work with Rx Inspector to evaluate Dr., warranty and Lab redos to provide critical feedback and process improvements.
  • Set up International RX processes and procedures.
  • Work with each international offices to understand the proper reporting and return of redo jobs.
  • Utilizes problem solving skills, teamwork building strategies, process control, and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the departments key operating performance indicators.
  • Facilitates meetings with each shift and department at regular scheduled intervals. Communicates the department goals and objectives, successes, process problems, and any preventive actions that need to be taken, etc.
  • You are required to perform all other duties as requested or required.

Desired Qualifications:
As a guide, indicated below is the preferred education and experience for this position:
  • Three plus years leadership experience in a fast-paced Rx lab-manufacturing environment. Excellent supervisory and QC skills.
  • Optical/Optician experience
