The company is committed to delivering high-quality eyewear, accurate prescriptions, and attentive customer care. Team members collaborate closely with eye care professionals to support patients’ vision needs and overall eye health. Buffalo Optical Growth LLC values professionalism, reliability, and a welcoming environment for patients of all backgrounds.

Role Description This full-time, on-site Licensed Optician role is based in Buffalo, NY and involves direct interaction with patients and eye care professionals. The Licensed Optician will assist patients in selecting frames and lenses, interpret prescriptions, and ensure proper fitting, adjustment, and repair of eyewear. The role includes educating patients on lens options, coatings, and visual solutions, as well as verifying prescriptions and maintaining accurate records. The optician will collaborate with optometrists and other team members, help support eye exam flow, and contribute to a positive, efficient, and patient-centered experience. Additional responsibilities include maintaining inventory, upholding safety and compliance standards, and supporting day-to-day operations in the optical dispensary.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of optics, including lens types, frame geometry, and prescription interpretation.
  • Understanding of optometry practices and procedures to effectively support eye exams and coordinate with eye care professionals.
  • Strong customer service and customer satisfaction skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and build trust with diverse patients.
  • Experience assisting with or coordinating eye exams, including pre-testing or patient preparation, is beneficial.
  • Current optician license in New York State (or eligibility to obtain), with adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
