Job Responsibilities:
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Optics Engineering Intern position will support the Optical Engineers with a variety of in-lab testing. This position will also brainstorm continuous improvement methods for optical engineering testing approaches. Additionally, this position will support optical studies and identified research projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Learn theory/purpose of optical camera testing including
o Color chart measurement
o SNR measurement
o High Dynamic Range measurement
o MTF measurement
o Through focus lens measurement
• Assist Optical Engineers with optics testing (above)
• Brainstorm methods to improve optical testing (above)
• Support optical studies and projects
• Define/scope/plan optical project of mutual benefit
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Some related experience preferred
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma
• Currently Attending a College or University
• Major in engineering physics, mechanical engineering, optics or relative field
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:
• Proficient Computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Professional Communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong technical and analytical competence in select areas of technology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Power Point)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer.
