EMF Corporation is seeking candidates to fill our Coating Technician position who have experience as Machine Operators working in manufacturing. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team within a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role has 2+ yearsโ€™ experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail and is committed to workplace safety.

We are looking to fill positions on our first shift (7 am - 3:30 pm). On the job training for our vacuum systems and process flow will be provided and the applicants will be evaluated on performance and learned skills after a 90-day period.

EMF provides precision optical coatings for a broad range of applications, including automotive components, display systems, instrumentation, satellite communications, flexible substrates, protective face shields, power cell components, glass, and lighting.


Looking for experienced Coating Technicians


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform vacuum coating operations necessary to deposit thin films on a variety of substrates via coating chambers
  • Work from written & verbal instructions, set up sheets and standard operating procedures under direct supervision
  • Operate one or more of the production machines maintaining standard yields and utilization
  • Safely handle a wide variety of optical components
  • Hand clean substrates as required and meet standard cleaning requirements
  • Monitor and control the evaporation cycle using process control equipment
  • Monitor control panel frequently and record data
  • Maintain required documentation of process conditions and abnormal occurrences, including run records
  • Responsible for the inspection of the work produced
  • Measure product and determine if it meets specification
  • Responsible for comparing product to standards and to prints/drawings
  • Report unusual conditions and/or problems to engineering
  • Full knowledge of location and content of all quality documents pertaining to product produced
  • Tear down and rebuild inside components of the coater during routine clean-ups
  • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed and involved written and oral instructions
  • Adaptable to various situations and tasks within a changing work environment


Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of a GED/High school Diploma required
  • 2-year technical degree Required
  • Min of 5 Years as an Optical Coating Technician (Preferred)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong math skills, including, adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing, and calculating averages and percentages
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook โ€“ Access a plus)
  • Experience, or the ability to learn to read CAD drawings
