RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is looking for a Optical Network Engineer to join their client in Seattle, WA. This role will join their FIPS project initiative (security/compliance-driven network updates) and Operational capacity restoration (stabilizing and scaling network infrastructure).
Responsibilities:
* Support and maintain large DWDM networks
* Troubleshoot optical transport systems
* Work on optical planning and modeling
* Resolve performance and capacity issues
* Support network upgrades and rollouts
* Work within an operational environment (not just design)
REQUIREMENTS:
* 4+ years of experience in a Optical Network Operations/Support role
* Experience with: DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), 802.2/3, 802.1d VLANs/STP, IPv4 & IPv6, TCP (internals & flow control), BGP, OSPF, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC & VPNs, netflow, DNS, HTTP
* Experience with the rollout and operations of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies
* Experience with optical planning and modelling tools
* Experience troubleshooting DWDM/Optical systems
* Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
