Description

We are seeking Data Center Fiber Technicians to support large-scale data center deployments across multiple U.S. locations. This role is responsible for fiber installation, rack assembly, fiber splicing, cable management, and troubleshooting physical layer infrastructure issues. Candidates with experience in data center environments, fiber optics, and rack-and-stack activities are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Install, route, and terminate fiber optic cabling throughout data center facilities.

Assemble, install, and organize data center racks and cabinets.

Perform fiber splicing and maintain proper cable management standards.

Complete rack-and-stack activities, including server installations and top-of-rack connections.

Install and organize patch cabling between servers, network equipment, and Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs).

Troubleshoot physical layer connectivity issues and support site commissioning efforts.

Respond to infrastructure-related service tickets and assist in resolving network connectivity problems.

Follow established safety procedures, quality standards, and project specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Fiber experience.

Experience using OTDR equipment for fiber testing and troubleshooting.

Previous data center deployment, commissioning, or infrastructure buildout experience.

Project Scope

Technicians will support large-scale hyperscale data center construction and deployment projects that may include:

100–200 racks per site.

Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs) containing approximately 200,000 to 2 million fiber splices.

Rack assembly and deployment.

Server installations and cable consolidation.

Site activation, testing, and troubleshooting to support production readiness.

The team is actively supporting data center projects in the following markets. Candidates located in or near these areas are strongly preferred:

Des Moines, Iowa

Denver, Colorado

Salt Lake City, Utah

Phoenix, Arizona

Travel Requirements

Candidates must be open to traveling for assignments lasting up to 8 weeks at a time, unless local to the project site.

Travel technicians will be provided company-arranged lodging located near data center sites.

Accommodations are typically extended-stay hotels such as Candlewood Suites, Marriott properties, or similar accommodations.

Travel is coordinated through the company's travel department and may include airfare or rental vehicles.

Traveling technicians are eligible to fly home once per month during extended assignments.

Travel Benefits

Company-provided lodging during all travel assignments.

$50 daily per diem for meals while traveling.
