Generac Home is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer with a focus on front end development. In this role you will be working as a team member developing and testing power generation control systems that can be remotely controlled and monitored using web and mobile technology solutions. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering production-ready software features across frontend, middleware, APIs, and backend integrations. This role translates product and design requirements into scalable engineering solutions, owns feature delivery from design through production deployment, and provides technical leadership through independent decision-making, mentoring, and contribution to engineering standards. The position supports development of the Generac Fleet platform and related software initiatives, including adoption of AI-enabled software development practices.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver full-stack software features from design through production deployment, including frontend application development, middleware, APIs, and backend integrations.
  • Translate product and design requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions while collaborating closely with Product Management, Design, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership by influencing architecture, engineering standards, code quality practices, and technical decision-making with limited oversight.
  • Mentor engineers and provide guidance to peers through code reviews, technical discussions, and shared best practices.
  • Support the team's AI-enabled software development strategy by applying appropriate AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.
  • Contribute to development of the Generac Fleet platform and related software initiatives within a distributed engineering team environment in support of Generac's dealer network

Mininum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including experience delivering production-level software and owning features from concept through deployment.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • 3+ years full-stack development capability with required experience in TypeScript and React.
  • 1 year + demonstrated integration and adoption of AI assisted development tools in your daily work

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.

Work Experience

  • Experience with Java, Golang, AWS, Azure, Terraform, CI/CD practices, TanStack, Tailwind, Vite, Storybook.
  • Technical mentoring and technical leadership.
  • Deploying applications on Kubernetes.
  • Implementing thorough observability and alerting pipelines.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to influence engineering standards, architecture, and technical direction; demonstrated experience mentoring engineers; and experience increasing software development productivity and quality through responsible use of AI-enabled tools.

Generac is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role based in Santa Monica CA is $114,800- $148,600. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location. This position includes a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans; life, long-term disability, flexible spending and health savings accounts, accrued paid time off, 8 paid Holidays and 401(k) retirement benefits.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
