TFS is looking for qualified students to fill Summer 2027 Internship positions in Software Engineering including:
  • Cloud Engineering

  • Machine Learning/AI Engineering

  • Site Reliability Engineering

  • Test Automation (QA) Engineering

  • UI/Front End Engineering

What you'll be doing
As a technical intern, you'll work alongside experienced team members to:
  • Support ongoing projects through planning, research, development, and execution

  • Build technical and analytical skills using Toyota tools and technologies such as programming languages, data visualization platforms, cloud services, and manufacturing systems

  • Collaborate across teams and develop your professional network by participating in meetings and communicating with engineering, IT, manufacturing, and business partners

  • Observe current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help support innovative solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness

  • Past projects have included but not limited to:

  • Provide a digital guest payment portal for guests such as third-party dealers, banks, and insurance companies, enabling them to make payments digitally

  • Create a single observability dashboard to consolidate and display key Snowflake metrics

  • Design and implement observability dashboards, automate incident detection and response workflows, and develop self-healing scripts to resolve common application issues.

  • Design and build a modern prototype system to manage tax credits across all eligible states, incorporating the latest features and leveraging APIs and AI/ML where appropriate.

  • Develop a prototype micro frontend progressive web application (PWA) that can be built once and deployed seamlessly across both web and mobile platforms.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must have the right to work in the United States and not require Toyota sponsorship for immigration-related employment (e.g., H-1B, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, TN, or F-1 OPT extension) now or in the future

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 or higher

  • Must have completed at least one full academic year at a two- or four-year college or university post-high school (sophomore standing or above)

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, accredited degree program (this includes both two-year and four-year colleges) studying in a STEM discipline or related field:

  • Computer Science

  • Computer Engineering

  • Software Engineering

Additional Requirements applicable to various disciplines
  • Familiarity with languages like Java, C++, and Python, as well as distributed and cloud-based technologies

  • Hands-on development experience in distributed, analytical, cloud-based and open-source technologies

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking competency
