Position Overview

Vita Wellness and Counseling LLC is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care to individuals seeking recovery from substance use disorders. In this full-time remote role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients as they navigate the complexities of addiction recovery, developing personalized treatment plans that positively impact their lives and the lives of their families.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to conduct therapy sessions from the comfort of your home while maintaining a strong support network with colleagues through virtual collaboration. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some evening shifts as needed based on patient demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments and evaluations to identify the individual needs and goals of patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices, providing effective therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate individual counseling sessions utilizing methodologies such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to empower patients in their recovery journey.
  • Lead group therapy sessions designed to enhance peer support and foster community among individuals in recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, addiction specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
  • Provide crisis intervention services to support patients experiencing acute substance-related challenges.
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction recovery, creating awareness of available community resources and support systems.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Participate actively in professional development, team meetings, and case reviews to stay abreast of current research and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on adults seeking recovery from substance use disorders, including those dealing with alcohol, opioids, and other addictive behaviors. Our approach emphasizes a recovery-oriented model that includes both individuals and their families in the therapeutic process, acknowledging the importance of a supportive environment for long-term success.

Qualifications
  • A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
  • Demonstrated understanding of substance use disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proven experience in delivering both individual and group therapy within addiction treatment settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, characterized by an empathetic and nonjudgmental approach.
  • Ability to adhere to strict ethical guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and digital communication tools.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working with diverse populations, particularly those affected by substance use.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and their application in therapy.
  • Experience in leading therapeutic groups and workshops focused on substance use recovery.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus additional performance bonuses. New team members are also eligible for a sign-on bonus as an incentive for joining our dedicated team.
