Orthopedic Surgeon - New York Metro Area

HealthYes is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-established, multi-specialty outpatient healthcare organization in New York City. The group has a long-standing presence in the community, a consistently high patient volume, and a strong internal referral network that supports specialty growth. This opportunity is ideal for an Orthopedic Surgeon seeking a stable, high-earning, outpatient-focused practice with administrative and clinical support in place.

Position Overview

The Orthopedic Surgeon will provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care in an outpatient clinical setting. The role emphasizes evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and longitudinal care, with access to imaging, physical therapy, and specialty referrals within the organization. Surgical cases are coordinated based on specialty focus and patient needs.

This is a patient-facing, clinically autonomous role that is supported by a strong care team and robust operational infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Care
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, including degenerative, traumatic, and chronic disorders

  • Conduct new patient consultations, second opinions, post-operative follow-ups, and ongoing care management

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including non-operative management, physical therapy coordination, injections, and surgical recommendations when appropriate

  • Perform in-office orthopedic procedures and interventions consistent with training and scope of practice

  • Interpret diagnostic imaging and collaborate with radiology as needed

Surgical & Procedural Coordination
  • Assess surgical candidacy and coordinate procedures aligned with subspecialty expertise

  • Provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-up care

  • Work closely with surgical teams, therapy services, and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care

Collaboration & Care Integration
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, physical therapists, pain management specialists, and other subspecialists

  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions to optimize patient outcomes

  • Contribute to the development of care pathways and best practices within the group

Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant electronic medical records (EMR)

  • Adhere to clinical guidelines, regulatory standards, and quality metrics

  • Support risk management, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives

Ideal Candidate Profile Required Qualifications
  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery

  • Active New York State medical license (or ability to obtain)

  • DEA registration (or eligibility)
