As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmology clinics. Your responsibilities will include:ย
- Patient Work-Up: Conduct basic patient assessments, including visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, and dilation.ย
- Testing and Evaluation: Perform a range of tests such as confrontation visual fields, cover testing, and versions, and assist in manifest refractions.ย
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, explain testing procedures, answer questions, and provide necessary education.ย
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our clinical support team and providers to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.ย
- Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by recognizing and addressing common safety hazards.ย
- Documentation: Utilize our EMR system to accurately record patient data and ensure itโs ready for provider review.ย
Education: High school diploma is required; some college or a degree is preferred. Certification as a COA or COT is a plus.ย
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare environment.ย
