Job Title: Ophthalmologist - Consulting- AI Applications
Part time, Remote US
Role Overview
We're seeking a visionary Ophthalmologist with any hands-on experience in AI/ML, digital health, or clinical technology development to lead clinical strategy, validate and refine AI models, and ensure seamless integration of ophthalmic expertise into our cutting-edge platform. You'll be a key clinical leader partnering with product, engineering, and research teams to expand safe, accurate, and ethical ophthalmology AI at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & AI Integration
  • Provide ophthalmic subject-matter expertise to support AI model training, evaluation, and clinical validation across diverse ophthalmic conditions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop, tune, and validate multimodal AI algorithms that integrate imaging and clinical data.
  • Define clinical pathways, diagnostic criteria, labeling standards, and urgency scoring logic for AI outputs.
  • Ensure AI recommendations align with evidence-based medicine and real-world ophthalmology practice.
Product & Strategy
  • Influence product strategy with deep clinical insight - from feature prioritization to user experience design.
  • Translate clinical needs into practical product enhancements and requirements.
  • Help design clinical evaluation studies and usability testing frameworks.
Education & Outreach
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on AI capabilities, limitations, and safe use.
  • Co-create clinical content, educational modules, and case libraries for clinicians using MyEyesAI.
  • Represent MyEyesAI at conferences, webinars, or peer-reviewed publications.
Regulatory & Quality
  • Guide compliance with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, clinical safety, explainability principles).
  • Partner with QA and compliance teams to ensure clinical safety protocols in development and deployment.
Qualifications
  • Professional & Clinical
  • MD or equivalent degree with board certification in Ophthalmology.
  • Active medical license in at least one U.S. state (or equivalent regulatory region).
  • AI / Technology Experience
  • Demonstrated experience with AI in clinical settings - whether through collaborations, research, model evaluation, or product implementation.
  • Comfort with interpreting AI outputs and contributing to algorithm refinement and validation.
  • Experience with ophthalmic imaging modalities (e.g., fundus photography, OCT) is a plus.
