JOB TITLE: RECEVING FORKLIFT OPERATOR
JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
This job requires the Receiving/ Shipping Ingredients Forklift Operator to perform the following tasks:
  • Perform trailer inspections and securing trucks prior to loading/unloading
  • Check/verify all product labels, names, and quantities received in from suppliers and provide the incoming documents to Inventory Clerk for receiving.
  • Unload/unpack materials and label prior to putting in storage.
  • Work well with team members to accurately place items in designated storage area in warehouses
  • Use handheld scanner to complete inventory moves
  • Move product from the trucks to the appropriate warehouse noting proper storage/temperature conditions as well as Allergen/Organic foods control.
  • Properly report and handle damaged product and or incoming materials.
  • Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
  • Sorting and organizing pallets and metal drums, bailing recyclables (cardboard and plastic)
  • To move product from the warehouse to trucks being loaded following the Pick List so that pulling in FIFO is maintained.
  • Perform trailer inspections and securing trucks prior to loading.
  • Use a scanner to complete loads, transfer product and split pallets.
  • Properly report and handle damaged product.
  • To perform general labor
  • To work in a safe manner
  • To take direction from the Warehouse Operations Supervisor or Shipping Lead Person or Warehouse Dry Lead, to assure procedures are being followed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead person.
  • Support the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

  1. 30% Compare product labels, tags, or tickets, with vendor's packing list, and report damage or inaccurate counts.
  2. 17% Communicate with scheduler, production, purchasing, and receiving to exchange information regarding all products and materials.
  3. 40% Safely and efficiently operate forklift without damage to product, persons, or facilities.
  4. 3% Maintain daily check list on forklifts and delivering Chep pallets to production.
  5. 10% Maintain First In/First Out on all ingredients and cleanliness of warehouses 1, 2, & 3,4,6, 8 rotating shifts/duties to fill vacancies, when needed.
