Job description

Crystal Clean (CC) is one of the nation's leading privately held companies in the environmental waste services industry. Purpose: The Recycle Center Plant Operator is responsible for first and foremost, conducting their work in a safe manner at all times. Plant Operators are responsible for the operation of recycling equipment including material transfers and process unit operations, process monitoring and process adjustments. They have the responsibility for preparation, review and monitoring of the shipping and receiving of material in and out of the facility, including containers and bulk deliveries.
Essential Duties:
  • Takes direction from Recycle Facility Manager, as applicable.
  • Operates and maintains recycling equipment for optimum safe performance, including:
    • Operation, processing, monitoring, adjusting, filling/emptying, maintaining and cleaning recycling process equipment.
    • Update process logbooks with field activities and process adjustments, noting any variances, deviations, equipment malfunctions or environmental releases encountered during field readings.
    • Maintain and update process readings sheets to record operating conditions
    • Assist with plant operations and inspections.
    • Develop ways and means to operate more effectively.
  • Verifies inbound containers and container labeling are consistent with inbound paperwork with all applicable D.O.T. designations and directs inbound containers to appropriate staging areas in accordance with Company rules and regulations.
  • Empties inbound material containers from tanker trucks and fills containers in preparation for outbound shipment, as needed.
  • Complete shift handover communications.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and standards including but not limited to environmental and regulatory, human resources, facility, equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Self-motivated, and team orientated with sound mathematical and mechanical skills who is an effective communicator.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years related experience preferred
  • High School Diploma
  • Vocational training preferred
  • Ability to pass company paid physical exam and substance abuse screening.
  • Clean driving record, CDL preferred but not required.
