Job description

POSITION: CMM Operator

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL

STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The CMM Operator/Mechanical Lab Technician will be responsible for ensuring the Test Lab and CMM work is performed in an acceptable manner within requirements of established procedures. Working in the machine shop. Interface with engineers to perform required work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operate FARO, Scanner and CMM machines and maintain work instructions for the set-up and inspection of parts.
  • Collect and analyze inspection data and make computations as necessary to determine inspection results and perform first article inspections.
  • Fundamental understanding of GD&T, and Math (including Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry)
  • Create and maintain programs for CMM and Scanner machines
  • Work with Engineering on any testing, dimensional inspection, and studies that may be required
  • Support and participate in division and department improvement initiatives through continuous Improvement Suggestion Program, and sharing of knowledge, ideas, and/or best practices with co-workers
  • Actively participate and comply with all division and department policies, procedures and work instructions as they relate to position / department
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent


Skills/Experience

  • 2-5+ years of CMM programming experience
  • Proficient at reading part drawings
  • Must have knowledge of GD&T
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
