Job description

 The Levy Group of Companies is seeking Equipment/Machine Operators to work at our Levy Evertz Technology  location in Calvert, Alabama.

The  Equipment/Machine Operators perform all functions as it pertains to processing steel slab surfaces as required by mill surface requirements. 


 
The Heavy Equipment Operators perform all functions as it pertains to operating heavy off-road mobile equipment.

 
Shift: Rotating

Responsibilities
The Equipment/Machine Operator will:
 
  • Visually inspect slab surface as they are being processed to ensure defects are being removed

  • Process each individual slab as required by mill instructions

  • Complete Daily Inspection forms
  • Enter sequence number into panel view for data collection
  • Aware of any mechanical/electrical malfunctions of equipment and report 
  • Performs all machine grinding activities within SOP procedures.
  • Cleaning work area as as necessary
  • Work closely with Shift Maintenance Technician
  • Shoveling swarf from work areas
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor

 
Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A team and safety oriented mentality 
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Tolerate noise and heat in heavy industrial setting
  • Basic Mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of basic computers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to sit/stand/shovel/push/pull for extended period of time
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
