We are looking for a Crane Operator to join our team in Flowood, MS.

Schedule: 12hr rotating shift

Pay: $23 - $25 per hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

TMS International is seeking experienced Crane Operators for our Flowood, MS location. Operators will handle scrap metal using cranes equipped with grapple or magnet attachments. This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced steel mill environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate overhead cranes equipped with magnet attachments to move and sort scrap metal and other materials.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials within the mill.
  • Maintain equipment and conduct routine inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Follow safety protocols and work with a team to ensure compliance with all safety standards.
  • Assist in material loading/unloading processes as needed.
  • Document crane operations and report any malfunctioning equipment to maintenance personnel.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a crane operator (cable or hydraulic crane) or in a similar role within an industrial setting (steel mill experience preferred).
  • Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a high-temperature, noisy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in steel mill operations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
