Description:

Job Summary: The Machine Operator (All Shifts) position reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for operating machines in the Cup Department. This position performs duties to ensure that the machines are running smoothly and efficiently, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and productivity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Machine Operator will be responsible for the following core job duties:

  1. Perform or be able to perform all duties related to cup production including producing cups, replacing rolls on parent stand, operating machine, bagging products, assembling boxes, packing products, stacking and labeling boxes.
  2. Make adjustments to machinery according to product specifications.
  3. Perform preventive and general maintenance on equipment.
  4. Handle all requisitions of raw materials, process finished goods, maintain accurate production and equipment records.
  5. Keep work area and machinery clean and in good working order.
  6. Maintain the required production output levels as specified by supervisor.
  7. Ensure the smooth and consistent flow of entire department.
  8. Report and document all quality issues to Production Manager and Quality Manager
  9. Report and document all equipment issues to Production Manager and Maintenance Department.
  10. Report all personnel issues to Department Lead and or Production Manager.
  11. Inspect products to identify and report possible defects, as specified.
  12. Work and coordinate within the product flow of the department and coordinate all activities with supervisor
  13. Assist with routine inventory checks as needed.
  14. Adhere to the Lighthouse safety plan by utilizing safe workplace practices and reporting all injuries, accidents, near misses, emergencies, and safety hazards.
  15. Perform all duties in compliance with the LHB ISO Quality system procedures.
  16. Conduct all business in a positive, professional manner and maintain a strong teambuilding environment among staff members at all times.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: High School / GED preferred.
  2. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on cup machinery. Must be able to read, write, and have basic math skills.
  3. Experience: Two years of experience operating and maintaining industrial machinery preferred.
  4. Supervisory Responsibility: None.
  5. Physical: Able to perform duties as required by department and function, accommodations may be made if reasonable and feasible. Able to lift 60 lbs. on a regular basis. Able to travel throughout the facility to safely and effectively manage all work responsibilities, breaks, and emergency evacuations, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Able to manage all self-care needs and activities of daily living as required to support successful employment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  6. Personality: Ability to work well in a team environment, dependable, and willing to learn.
  7. Working Conditions: Inside, production environment.
  8. Work Schedule: Typically, 40 hours weekly schedule. May vary depending on business need.
  9. Background Check and Drug Testing required: Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results.
