What we're looking for:

Operators make required rounds to ensure proper equipment operation and to perform required visual and olfactory inspections. Ensure unit is operating at target rates and production is on-spec. Monitor operating equipment and ensure it is operating within desired ranges. Handles maintenance items in assigned areas including staging of equipment. Identifies problem areas with the unit and communicate suggestions to unit supervision, engineering, or other appropriate associates.
  • Complete a site Safety Orientation and follow all Operator safety and environmental policies. Assures compliance with all applicable government regulations for safety and environmental matters.
  • Monitor production and equipment operations during actual production runs to assure target rates are achieved and the product is within specifications.
  • Draws raw material, unit stream, finished product and shipping samples as required by the unit sampling schedule.
  • Complete rotating equipment checklists each shift, lubricate as necessary, tighten valve packing, correct leaks, and blow down instrument transmitter legs as needed.
  • Team to identify process problem areas and learning how to communicate them up and through the organization using appropriate means of communication.
  • Ensure execution of unit energy optimization plan.
  • Participate in shift hand-offs at and other key operator communications meetings.
  • Participates in audits, investigations, HAZOPs, PHA's and quality efforts in the areas.
  • Maintains good housekeeping of equipment, control rooms, and the production areas.
  • Clearing and LOTO of equipment to prep for Maintenance.
  • Manager in process and raw material samples as necessary to assure operations performance.
  • Troubleshoot process and mechanical related issues in the process and work with Console Operators and Maintenance to safely address and resolve issues to maintain production.
  • Ensure that the activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality and responsible care requirements).
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company required training programs.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required for all jobs.
  • Associate degree in Process Technology with 2+ years of experience in a Petrochemical and/or refinery setting.
  • High School Diploma with 5+ years' experience in a Petrochemical and/or refinery setting can be substituted for the associate degree.
  • Must meet Fire Brigade physical requirements for jobs that require Fire Brigade participation including the ability to wear a respirator and carry up to 50-pounds of equipment.
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights.
  • Must be willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule and work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively both verbally and in writing and maintains effective work relations with those encountered during employment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new instructions and/or dynamic organizational priorities is critical for job success.
