Job description

About the Role

As the Director, Operations & Resource Management, you will lead the end-to-end operational execution of hiring, staff planning, and talent alignment for the Media Agency group at Monks. Reporting directly to the VP, Operations, you will act as the key operational hub connecting agency leadership, finance, and recruitment.

  • First 30 Days: Onboard seamlessly into existing systems and operational workflows for managing job requisitions, tracking approvals, and maintaining hiring data integrity.
  • First 90 Days: Elevate team efficiency by leveraging observed resource utilization and billability metrics to drive data-informed staffing recommendations.
  • First Year: Serve as the definitive "casting manager" for the entire Media department, strategically deploying talent and shaping staff planning in close partnership with cross-departmental leaders.
Responsibilities:
  • Hiring Workflow Execution: Drive the end-to-end role opening process, managing requisition entries, tracking approvals across Finance and executive leadership, and auditing recruitment systems to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Resource Allocation & Utilization: Analyze department utilization, billability, and project demands to guide headcount forecasts, staffing strategies, and casting decisions.
  • Leadership Cadence & Reporting: Facilitate weekly hiring and ops leadership syncs by preparing real-time tracking dashboards that highlight open requisitions, priority backfills, and hiring statuses.
  • Data Integrity & Headcount Reconciliation: Maintain source-of-truth trackers for team departures, historical turnover, and open positions, regularly auditing input sheets to prevent forecasting errors.
  • Off-Cycle Promotion Management: Facilitate and streamline the submission, review, and leadership sign-off processes for off-cycle promotions and compensation adjustments.
About You

Must-Haves:

  • Meticulous attention to detail with proven capability to maintain high data accuracy within complex operational tracking systems.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with SME stakeholders, leadership, and finance teams to navigate and streamline hiring and approval workflows.
  • Strong analytical ability with a track record of using data to inform staffing strategies and operational improvements.
  • Prior resource management or operational leadership experience within a Media Agency environment.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working with Greenhouse
  • Prior experience working as a SME within paid media (strategy, planning, investment, etc.)

At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. We welcome and encourage qualified applicants, from all backgrounds, who are excited to contribute to our mission.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. The specific details, including the number of required office days, will be in accordance with the company's then-current RTO policy, which is subject to change from time to time.
