An operations research analyst works with a company to analyze relevant data to improve business operations. Their primary duties involve setting goals, identifying potential problems, gathering pertinent information, and then using a variety of analytical methods to come up with solutions. The job requires strong analytical skills as well as the ability to think critically. Additional qualifications include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in operations research or management science, although many employers prefer a master’s degree. Those interested in a career as an operations research analyst must have research experience in an office setting.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an operations research analyst?

To thrive as an Operations Research Analyst, you need strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, typically supported by a degree in operations research, mathematics, engineering, or a related field. Proficiency with statistical analysis software, optimization tools like CPLEX or Gurobi, and programming languages such as Python or R is commonly required. Effective communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills help translate complex data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders. These abilities are crucial for delivering data-driven solutions that improve organizational efficiency and decision-making.

What are some common challenges operations research analysts face when translating analytical findings into actionable business strategies?

Operations Research Analysts often encounter challenges in communicating complex quantitative findings to stakeholders who may not have technical backgrounds. LOCATION: Lehi, UT
POSITION OVERVIEW:
As our Revenue Operations Analyst, you'll help drive results across the systems and processes that keep revenue moving. You'll support both Revenue Operations and Deal Desk work by turning data into clean pipelines, sharp reporting, and smarter processes that help the sales team perform. You'll also help deals move cleanly from quote to signature to billing, ensuring accurate pricing, strong system alignment, and dependable handoffs across teams. This role partners closely with Sales, Systems, Finance, Accounting, and CX to improve how revenue flows through the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Improve sales and handoff processes by mapping current workflows, identifying friction points, and building cleaner processes, automations, and playbooks in HubSpot.
  • Generate quotes, order forms, and contracts for new business and renewals with accurate pricing, terms, and product configuration.
  • Manage customer subscriptions, including upgrades, downgrades, add-ons, renewals, and cancellations, while keeping CRM and billing records aligned.
  • Support the quote-to-cash process by maintaining clean handoffs from closed-won through billing and finance, including order accuracy, effective dates, and system sync.
  • Maintain high standards for pipeline and CRM data hygiene by standardizing deal, contact, and company records, enforcing required fields and stage definitions, deduplicating data, and setting up validation processes.
  • Partner with sales leadership to build and maintain enablement materials such as process documentation, CRM how-tos, playbooks, and training resources.
  • Help onboard and upskill sales reps on tools, systems, and process expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with sales reps as primary partners to support active deals and provide reliable reporting and pipeline visibility.
  • Work with the RevOps team, Business Systems, Accounting, CX, and executive leadership to improve reporting, pricing, approvals, subscriptions, and revenue workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1-2 years of experience in Revenue Operations, Deal Desk, or a related analytical role preferred.
  • Experience building reports, working in spreadsheets, and maintaining data quality across systems.
  • Familiarity with CRM workflows and revenue processes; HubSpot experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a bias toward clean data and repeatable process.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to bring forward recommendations leadership can act on.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership and thrive in a fast-moving, results-driven environment.
  • Systems-oriented thinking, including understanding where data lives, how it flows, and where it can break.
  • Ability to work independently, move projects forward, and proactively identify next steps.
  • Curiosity, coachability, and a willingness to learn deeply and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Collaborative approach and comfort working cross-functionally across Sales, CX, Accounting, Systems, Finance, and leadership teams.
  • Direct, constructive problem-solving style with a focus on surfacing issues and bringing solutions.

OPINIION'S CULTURE:
At Opiniion, we take our work seriously, but we don't take ourselves too seriously! We work hard together, and we have a lot of fun doing it. We are a team that believes in real autonomy: you own your area, solve problems, and move fast enough to actually see the change you make. The people here are invested in each other just as much as they're invested in the work, and that combination is what makes this place different. We believe in collaboration, innovation, and building a team that truly cares-about our clients, their residents, and each other.
BENEFITS SNAPSHOT:
  • Comprehensive healthcare plans, encompassing medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with group life coverage. Opiniion covers 40-90% of the premium cost for employees and all dependents.

  • Monthly Wellness Reimbursement benefit.
