Job description

JOB SUMMARY

As a Technical Program Manager (TPM) at ASI, you are responsible for independently executing product development programs, owning scope, schedule, budget, and risk within a defined program scope. You operate within the Product Division triad alongside and Division Chief Engineer and the Division Product Manager, driving Product Development Process (PDP) phase execution with established methodology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive PDP phase execution for assigned program and manage gate readiness in consultation with the Product Manager and Division Chief Engineer.
  • Drive the master schedule including actual versus forecast tracking, flagging milestone risks at least two sprints in advance.
  • Drive Software & Hardware Release Plan development and execution.
  • Drive scope baseline definition and change control for assigned program, escalating out-of-scope requests to the Program Director.
  • Drive program budget execution within approved baselines and consult with Finance on actuals and forecasted variances.
  • Own risk register for assigned program, drive contingency planning at each phase-gate, and escalate unresolved issues to the Program Director.
  • Drive regular executive review slides and present program status to division leadership.
  • Drive Autonomy Report submission each sprint, with review by both Execution Manager and Functional Manager.
  • Understand ASI's Quality Management System and relevant standards. Drive continuous improvement to scale the company processes and procedures to meet ever increasing growth.
  • Integrate Agile and waterfall delivery within the PDP structure and coach team members on Agile practices and sprint discipline.
  • Build and maintain integrated program-level schedules, risk registers, and executive dashboards using the full CPMO tool suite.
  • Work with Product Management, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Development, Customers, Investors and other key functional stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, JOB SKILLS

  • Master's degree in engineering, business, or construction management, or equivalent.
  • 3-6 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with both hardware and software development new product development processes.
  • Strong command of PMBOK concepts across all process groups and knowledge areas; PMP certification or equivalent proficiency required.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate Agile and waterfall within PDP execution and coach team members on Agile practices.
  • Experience leading quarterly PI planning across multiple project teams and integrating Agile and waterfall within program execution.
  • Full command of the CPMO tool suite including Jira/Confluence, Smartsheet, SharePoint, SAP.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery across engineering, product, operations, and supply chain.
  • Demonstrated technical fluency sufficient to challenge engineering estimates and surface embedded risks.
  • Success candidates will take full ownership of program outcomes, holding self and others accountable. They will engage credibly with technical complexity; stress-tests engineering estimates. They will surfaces hidden risk through careful, thorough risk thinking; identifies what could go wrong before it registers in status reports

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for significant portions of the workday including during meetings, presentations, and computer-based tasks.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure while meeting tight deadlines, during conflict, and while delivering presentations.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information clearly and effectively in high-level meetings and discussions.
  • Capacity to analyze complex data, manage multiple concurrent projects, and make critical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to frequently travel and work outside of standard business hours as required by operational needs.
