Organization Description

Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc. (ART Inc.), founded in 2018 by Jonathon and Nikki Romain, is Peorias foremost arts and culture non-profit organization. ART Inc. provides arts education opportunities to nearly 500 students each year. The staff, board, volunteers, and teaching artists of ART Inc. work tirelessly to generate programs that empower all students to imagine, create, and realize their full potential through the arts, regardless of their ability to pay.


Purpose

As a Program Assistant, you will provide outstanding support to ensure high-quality experiences for our students and families at The Romain Arts & Culture Center. You will assist with daily program operations, greet and monitor participants, maintain facility cleanliness, and manage check-in and check-out procedures. Your work directly supports our mission to create a safe, welcoming, and creative environment for every child.

Note: Completion of fingerprinting and a background check through the Peoria Public School District office is required for this position.


Duties and Responsibilities

The duties listed below illustrate the various types of work you will perform. You may also be assigned other related tasks as needed.


Program Support

  • Assist with greeting parents and students upon arrival.
  • Take accurate daily attendance and manage the check-in and check-out process.
  • Prepare and distribute snacks to students.
  • Support teachers and Program Specialists during after-school programming.
  • Ensure all students are picked up on time and checked out appropriately.

Events & Performances

  • Greet guests and visitors during special events.
  • Provide attendees with up-to-date program information.
  • Support event setup, breakdown, and guest flow as directed by staff.

Daily Operations

  • Ensure we welcome and assist all guests and visitors who enter the building.
  • Answer questions and share accurate information about ART Inc. programs.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and uphold all safety and security protocols.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to staff and students in the event of an emergency.



Mental and Physical Requirements

Physical effort is generally light, with lifting or carrying limited to 25 pounds intermittently, as well as walking up and down stairs. There may be occasional pressure associated with project or activity deadlines. Completion of fingerprinting and background check through the Peoria Public School District office is required. Other duties as assigned.
