Type One Energy is seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Program Manager to lead the strategic planning, execution, and risk management of the end-to-end supply chain supporting our HTS magnet and fusion technology programs. This role will be responsible for developing supplier strategies, managing critical manufacturing partners, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring the timely availability of materials and components required for magnet design, fabrication, and testing.

The ideal candidate possesses experience managing complex hardware supply chains in industries such as aerospace, advanced energy, semiconductors, cryogenics, superconducting technologies, or large-scale industrial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies supporting HTS magnet and fusion technology development and production programs.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination among Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Program Management teams.
  • Establish program-level supply plans, sourcing roadmaps, and supplier capacity strategies.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers of superconducting tape, cryogenic components, precision-machined assemblies, insulation systems, and specialty materials.
  • Build and maintain integrated schedules for critical supply chain activities and long-lead procurement requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance across cost, delivery, quality, and technical readiness metrics.
  • Lead risk assessments and mitigation plans for supply continuity, supplier capacity, geopolitical risk, and material availability.
  • Support make-versus-buy evaluations and supplier selection activities.
  • Drive vendor readiness for prototype and production-scale magnet manufacturing.
  • Create executive-level reporting on supply chain status, program risks, and recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams on supplier qualification and non-conformance resolution.
  • Support contract negotiations and strategic supplier partnerships.
What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, program management, manufacturing operations, or related disciplines.
  • Experience managing complex technical supply chains for hardware products.
  • Demonstrated success working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Strong program management and project execution skills.
  • Experience with ERP, MRP, and supply chain planning systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting fusion, superconducting magnet, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, cryogenic, or advanced manufacturing programs.
  • Knowledge of HTS materials such as REBCO conductors and associated processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with supplier qualification processes and quality systems.
  • PMP, APICS, CSCP, or similar certification.
  • Experience managing long-lead technical components and custom-engineered assemblies.
