Job description

SUMMARY:


The Operations Manager is responsible for directing all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities at FASTC, ensuring facility operations run smoothly, safely, and in full compliance with contract requirements. This role provides daily oversight of maintenance teams, manages work order execution, and maintains consistent communication with government stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Lead and supervise a diverse team responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing commercial building systems.
• Prepare and submit signed monthly progress reports to the Government.
• Manage corrective maintenance efforts, preventive maintenance programs, and all unscheduled work orders.
• Provide weekly written and verbal updates on the status of O&M activities.
• Deliver a comprehensive monthly report summarizing corrective maintenance funding, preventive and unscheduled work completed, quality control metrics, safety incidents and training, equipment downtime, customer satisfaction data, and any operational concerns or recommendations.
• Maintain on-site presence during standard business hours and remain reachable around the clock for emergencies.
• Support hands-on maintenance and repair tasks as needed, applying practical skills in trades such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, masonry, and basic electrical work.
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality work and customer service.
• Complete all required training within established timelines.
• Perform duties in a safe, secure, and compliant manner.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:


• Must hold a minimum of an Associates’ degree in a related discipline or equivalent schools training/certifications.
• Possess a Secret security clearance.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience related O&M support services and/or Facilities management.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing such services to large facilities or operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Prior experience in the supervision of a workforce responsible for operations, maintenance, and repair of commercial building infrastructure systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able be able to conduct preventative maintenance activities and minor repairs from ladders or elevated platforms.
• Work requires the incumbent to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in uncomfortable positions.
• Ability to lift, carry and set up tools, equipment and parts that weigh up to and occasionally over fifty (50) pounds.
• Must be comfortable getting dirty, dusty, and greasy in an indoor or outdoor environment with frequent exposure to excessive noise.
• Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.).
• Must be able to work alternate shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer, to include weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to perform on-call duties when scheduled and report to work within one hour of notification.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
