Lab Manager, Petroleum Products - Onsite

What are we looking for?

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for Quality Management, Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance, Legal and Ethical Compliance, and Training.

Shift/Schedule:   8 am to 5 pm Daily, Mon Thru Fri with occasional OT

  • Render to clients an accurate, rapid, and efficient testing service of indisputable integrity
  • Provide adequate supervision of testing and review of results
  • Ensure that adequate calibrated equipment and trained personnel are available for all jobs
  • Perform Laboratory employee performance, maintains discipline and recommends hiring and dismissal
  • Seek new business
  • Be a positive company representative to clients
  • Set a positive example for all employees through your professional behavior and foster a professional atmosphere
  • Carry out all responsibilities in a supportive manner with adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Management System, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy
  • Exercise good judgement, common sense, and diplomacy in the lab and with managing the team

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •  Strong Leadership skills
  •  Ability to lead and motivate employees to actively support the objectives of the laboratory
  •  Organized with time management skills
  •  Experience in handling chemical and petroleum products
  •  Protocol, procedure and safety oriented
  •  Understand the significance of the data generated by test methods
  • Valid Driver's License with reliable driving record is required
  • Minimum one year of managerial experience within a petroleum laboratory 
  • Minimum Five (5) years of hands-on working experience in a petroleum laboratory 

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A college degree in chemistry from an accredited college or university is a plus!
