Job description

This position supports the continued growth of Cherry Bekaert's Finance & Accounting Outsourcing practice and our expanding not-for-profit client portfolio. The successful candidate will partner with FAO leadership and mission-driven organizations to deliver accounting, financial reporting, and advisory solutions that help clients operate efficiently, maintain compliance, and advance their organizational goals.

As a Finance & Accounting Outsourcing (FAO) Manager, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of outsourced accounting and financial reporting services for not-for-profit clients.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance on accounting operations, reporting requirements, and process improvements.

  • Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals, including offshore team members.

  • Oversee client onboarding activities, including process transitions, system implementations, and operational integrations.

  • Review financial statements, management reporting packages, reconciliations, and other client deliverables.

  • Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, grant reporting, and board reporting requirements.

  • Monitor engagement performance, resource utilization, and client satisfaction.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process enhancements and technology solutions.

  • Manage multiple client priorities while ensuring exceptional service and quality delivery.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA preferred.

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management experience within a public accounting firm.

  • Experience providing outsourced accounting, client accounting advisory, or controllership services to multiple clients.

  • Not-for-profit accounting experience required, including experience supporting charitable organizations, foundations, associations, educational institutions, or other tax-exempt entities.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, grant accounting, and fund accounting principles.

  • Experience leading and developing accounting professionals, including remote and offshore team members.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and client relationship management skills.

  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver exceptional client service in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range:

$101,000 to $192,600 per year
