Job description

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for aRegional Electric Power Operations Manager

Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful professionals.

Position Summary:

The primary market segments supported by the operations manager will be large commercial, industrial, marine, wastewater, educational, healthcare, landfill, combined heat and power, and low energy bio-gas. Overnight travel between 20-25% within Cleveland Brothers Territory. Moderate out of town travel as necessary to attend Caterpillar and Allied vendor training meetings. In accordance with management directives this position oversees the daily operational activities and supervises all power systems service operations of multiple company branches. The incumbent in this position will work with all power system service supervisors at their respective branches to model the following practices on a daily basis:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee Power Systems Product Support operations across all branches, ensuring alignment with the company's mission, values, and financial objectives.
  • Direct, coach, and mentor service supervisors; assess performance, support technician development, and foster positive union-management relations.
  • Plan and manage service operations to meet customer needs while improving productivity, profitability, quality, and timeliness of repairs.
  • Serve as the escalation point for customer issues, including billing, repairs, warranty matters, scheduling, and equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate branch and regional activities, including field and shop repairs, staffing, training, parts availability, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with sales and ISR teams to support rental and sales efforts through inspections, appraisals, quotes, estimates, and technical support.
  • Maintain strong relationships with manufacturers and suppliers; review and manage operational and expense-related matters.
  • Identify and support new business opportunities within assigned geographic markets.
  • Travel to branch locations and customer job sites to evaluate equipment needs and support operations.
  • Prepare reports, documentation, and analyses using approved systems; perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive experience with electrical and mechanical repair procedures
  • Position requires a thorough understanding of power systems new and rental equipment (generator sets, switch gear, automatic transfer switches, uninterruptible power systems, pumps, air compressors, heaters, etc.) and product support of the equipment
  • Knowledgeable of the practices and policies of the collective bargaining agreement
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication in order to motivate, organize, and supervise personnel involved in providing customer support services
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and requests from numerous sources, balancing conflicting priorities
  • High energy level, excellent organizational, time management and negotiating skills
  • Working knowledge of PC based computer software programs
  • A working knowledge of computer applications in a Windows based environment is essential
  • A bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
