We are hiring for a Northern California Area Sales / Operations Manager in our Ceres, CA location. 


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

You are the leader of the sales organization for NorCal, and you also own the operations.


Lead, recruit, coach, and develop a team of 6 Route Sales Representatives (RSRs) and a Warehouse Manager across the Northern California region (Bakersfield through Sacramento), driving accountability, service, and overall sales performance. 

Own district sales strategy and results, including revenue growth, distribution gains, and execution across all routes.

Build & maintain relationships with key retail partners to expand placement, secure additional space and grow key accounts. 

Drive new business opportunities, including new accounts, pallet programs, and expand distribution within existing customers. 

Execute and enforce pricing, billing, and account controls to protect revenue and ensure accuracy. 

Oversee inventory management processes, including forecasting, FIFO execution, and minimizing shrink and returns. 

Lead accounts receivable efforts, ensuring timely collections and strong financial discipline across the district. 

Analyze and track KPIs, route performance, and service metrics to identify gaps and drive continuous improvement. 

Ensure consistent execution of merchandising standards, schematics, and in-store service expectations. 

Oversee district operations, including route coverage, warehouse coordination, and process improvements, while partnering cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, and leadership to maintain efficiency and service levels.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

1. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience. 

2. 5+ years of experience in Direct Store Delivery (DSD), route-based sales, or consumer packaged goods (CPG), with demonstrated success in a leadership role. 

3. Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams in a fast-paced, field-based environment. 

4. Strong track record of driving sales growth, expanding distribution, and improving route productivity. 

5. Deep understanding of DSD operations, including merchandising, inventory control, and in-store execution. 

6. Experience managing key retail accounts and building strong customer relationships that drive long-term growth.

7. Financial and operational discipline, including experience with pricing controls, accounts receivable, and inventory management (FIFO, shrink, returns). 

8. Data-driven mindset with the ability to track KPIs, analyze performance, and translate insights into actionable plans.

9. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external partners.

10. Valid driver's license with a safe driving record, ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Field-based role with regular travel between retail accounts, routes, and warehouse.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. occasionally).

Work conducted in a mix of retail stores, independent retail accounts, delivery vehicles, and warehouse environments.

Requires safe operation of company vehicles and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.

Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions typical of warehouse and in-store environments.
