As an Environmental Service Lead, you'll help create a safe, healing environment by leading a team dedicated to cleanliness, infection prevention, and exceptional service. Working alongside the Environmental Services Supervisor and Manager, you'll coordinate daily operations, mentor team members, and ensure hospital standards are consistently met. If you're a hands-on leader who enjoys supporting others while making a meaningful impact, we'd love to meet you.

As an Environmental Service Lead, a typical day might include the following:

  • Coordinate daily work assignments and establish staff schedules with the Environmental Services Supervisor and Manager.
  • Assign duties, distribute supplies and equipment, inspect completed work, and work alongside team members to maintain high cleaning standards.
  • Train Environmental Services staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and the efficient use of materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout patient care areas and other hospital departments while ensuring compliance with infection prevention and isolation procedures.
  • Monitor sanitation and safety practices and follow up to ensure standards are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate trash removal from hospital grounds and entrances and inspect exterior areas daily.
  • Report maintenance and repair needs and follow through to ensure completion.
  • Support employee performance evaluations and assist with personnel-related processes, including schedule changes and other staffing actions.
  • Coordinate special event setups and other departmental activities as assigned.
  • Follow organizational policies regarding the proper use of Dash Cams to support safety, security, and driver training initiatives.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have technical knowledge of environmental services. The ability to read, write and speak English, and flexibility to accept change is also required. Approximately one year's experience as an environmental services aide in a hospital setting is preferred, as well as Leadership skills to motivate staff in the absence of the manager and/or supervisor.
