Job description

Bring your talent, creativity, and leadership skills to Pinecrest in Brainerd! We are seeking a warm, dependable, and experienced Beauty Salon Manager to oversee salon operations and provide professional hair care services to residents.
This position offers the unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships while helping older adults look and feel their best. The Beauty Salon Manager will provide direct salon services, coordinate appointments, supervise salon staff, maintain supplies and equipment, and collaborate with nursing and apartment team members to meet each client's individual needs.
This position is responsible for providing beauty shop services (shampoos, shampoo sets, permanent waves, colors, and manicures/pedicures) to residents of our Senior Housing Apartments and Enhanced Memory Care Suites.
Pinecrest will open in September 2026- this position will work approximately 16 hrs per week initially.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Minnesota cosmetology license in good standing.
  • Previous professional salon experience required.
  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or salon management experience preferred.
  • Experience working with older adults or in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of sanitation, infection prevention, chemical handling, and salon safety practices.
  • Strong communication, organization, scheduling, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, respectful service to individuals with varying physical, cognitive, and personal care needs.
  • Ability to lead and support salon staff while working collaboratively with nursing, apartment, and facility leadership teams.
  • Dependable, professional, and able to maintain resident privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with cosmetology services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Pinecrest Beauty Salon.
  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, organized, and safe salon environment.
  • Provide professional salon services, including shampoos, sets, perms, color treatments, haircuts, and styling.
  • Schedule appointments for nursing home residents and apartment tenants.
  • Maintain accurate records of services provided and applicable client charges.
  • Review salon charges and revenue to help ensure adequate funds are available for supplies and operating expenses.
  • Hire, schedule, guide, and support salon staff to ensure appropriate coverage and quality service.
  • Complete timely performance evaluations for salon team members.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain salon equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Monitor inventory and order salon products and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate with nursing staff regarding residents' hair care needs, preferences, and any relevant concerns.
  • Coordinate with the Apartment Coordinator regarding services for apartment tenants.
  • Keep salon staff informed of operational updates, resident needs, and facility expectations.
  • Follow all facility policies, departmental procedures, infection prevention practices, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain required product information and comply with applicable Right-to-Know and Safety Data Sheet requirements.
  • Participate in appropriate training, seminars, and in-service education to remain current on professional practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
