Overview

Utilizing independent judgment, the Operations Manager manages, supervises, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of Regions Arena. This employee's primary responsibilities include facilitation of changeovers, as well as the general maintenance and repair of facility systems.

This role pays an annual salary of $60,000 - $70,000

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until December 11, 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Senior Operations Manager in the overall daily operation and maintenance of the Regions Arena.
  • Plan, manage, coordinate, and review the work plan for the Regions Arena, services and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects, and programs; monitor workflow; and review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Help create and review operations schedules.
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the Regions Arena.
  • Represents the Operations Department in the absence of the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate Operations Supervisors and full-time and part-time staff.
  • Provide and/or coordinate department staff training.
  • Work with Managers and other department employees to correct deficiencies.
  • Implement timely disciplinary and exiting procedures with staff (including temporary workers).
  • Ensure staff are working safely and efficiently and are aware of proper safety guidelines.
  • Plan, manage, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility operations.
  • Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects, and programs; monitor workflow; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures.
  • Partner with the Senior Operations Manager to complete part-time housekeeping/conversion and contracted labor scheduling.
  • Order supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receive and maintain supplies.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Safely operate forklift and/or Zamboni as needed.
  • Maintain a customer-first mentality.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Degree in Facility Management or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in facility operations supervision or with comparable increasing responsibility in an arena, convention center, or public assembly facility with knowledge of setup/housekeeping and/or event coordination.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to acquire it.
  • Possess a valid driver's license or have the ability to acquire one.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supervisory skills and principles, with experience in work crew supervision and working on a varied work schedule in facility operations.
  • Must be comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity of OSHA requirements.
  • Hockey facility or sport-related operations experience is preferred.
