Our firm is recruiting on behalf of a well-established community-focused financial institution that provides a broad range of commercial, consumer, and business banking services. The Loan Operations Manager will lead and oversee all loan operations functions, ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of loan servicing, booking, documentation, reporting, and quality assurance activities. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines team management, operational oversight, process improvement, and strategic project participation to support the bank's lending operations and growth objectives.
Job Description
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Loan Operations team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Establish clear performance expectations aligned with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative culture while promoting employee engagement and accountability.
  • Assess staffing needs and oversee recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and talent development activities.
  • Manage employee performance, coaching, and corrective action processes in accordance with company policies.
Loan Operations Management
  • Oversee daily loan operations activities, including loan servicing, booking, documentation, reporting, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of operational tasks while meeting established service level expectations.
  • Monitor loan systems maintenance and provide operational support for production environments.
  • Analyze quality control findings, exceptions, and operational trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state banking regulations, internal policies, and audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Prioritize department workloads and allocate resources to meet business needs.
  • Ensure team members receive appropriate training to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
Project & Change Management
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, new product implementations, and operational enhancements.
  • Represent Loan Operations in project planning, testing, training, and implementation activities.
  • Develop scalable operational processes that support future business growth.
  • Monitor post-implementation performance and recommend enhancements as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiencies.
Risk, Compliance & Business Support
  • Ensure operational procedures align with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of processes and controls to identify improvement opportunities and mitigate risk.
  • Support audit and compliance activities and ensure timely resolution of findings.
  • Participate in risk assessments and maintain effective operational controls.
  • Support financial performance objectives through efficient resource management and operational excellence.
  • Maintain the integrity of loan data within internal systems and external reporting processes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and progressive related experience.
  • 5 to 8 years of loan operations experience within a banking or financial services environment.
  • At least 2 years of people leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of loan servicing, loan documentation, loan booking, quality control, and operational processes.
  • Experience ensuring compliance with federal and state banking regulations.
  • Demonstrated success leading process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Preferred
  • 8 to 12 years of loan operations experience.
  • Experience with Fiserv and LaserPro systems.
  • Advanced experience leading operational transformation, system implementations, or process automation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting audits, risk management programs, and regulatory examinations.
  • Background working in community banking or regional financial institutions.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive organizational change.
