JOB SUMMARY:

The District Athletics Intern is responsible for helping the district athletics administration manage and oversee athletics through the Indianapolis Public Schools district. This role supports the daily functions of the District Athletics Department and may impact district-wide operations. The District Athletics Intern may be required to interact with students, IPS faculty, parents/guardians, event attendees, partnering organizations, and others.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Attend athletic events help with management & facilitation.

• Help to develop schedules for IPS leagues.

• Help manage district-wide schedules, rosters, and coaching staff.

• Provide assessments on athletic events.

• Distribute and collect surveys at athletic events.

• Help develop content for social media and web.

• Help with coordination of community service projects.

• Provide clerical support to the District Athletic Department.

• Shadow and assist IPS high school Athletic Directors.

• Other responsibilities as assigned as assigned by athletics administrators.

WHAT YOU’ll BRING: SKILLS AND MINDSETS:

• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

• General familiarity with athletics related activities

• Easily utilize Microsoft Office software (Adobe Creative Suite knowledge is a plus)
