Job description

Plumbing & HVAC Operations Manager / General Manager

U S Allied Plumbing & HVAC is seeking an experienced Plumbing & HVAC Operations Manager / General Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, performance, and growth of our Plumbing & HVAC business.
This is a key leadership position for someone who knows the trades, understands how to manage people and projects, and is ready for the opportunity to run an operation—not simply manage a schedule.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a strong leader who can oversee our field personnel, manage customers and projects, improve efficiency and profitability, and help us continue to grow.
The right individual will work directly with ownership while having significant responsibility for the performance and success of the Plumbing & HVAC operation.
We want someone who can make decisions, solve problems, hold people accountable, and keep the operation moving without requiring constant direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day Plumbing & HVAC operations
  • Manage, schedule, and support plumbing and HVAC technicians
  • Coordinate manpower, service calls, projects, materials, and equipment
  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop field personnel as the company grows
  • Review estimates, proposals, pricing, and job costs
  • Monitor job profitability, productivity, and labor performance
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Help develop new customers and identify opportunities for growth
  • Oversee purchasing, vendors, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Ensure service work and projects are completed safely, professionally, on time, and within budget
  • Resolve customer and field issues quickly and professionally
  • Develop procedures that improve efficiency and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, licensing requirements, and company safety standards
  • Work directly with ownership on budgets, goals, staffing, and expansion

Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Significant experience in the Plumbing and/or HVAC industry
  • Proven management or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial Plumbing and HVAC service and project work
  • Experience managing technicians and other field personnel
  • Understanding of estimating, scheduling, job costing, and profitability
  • Strong customer-service and business-development skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • A valid driver's license
  • An ownership mentality and desire to build and grow an operation
Experience managing both Plumbing and HVAC operations is preferred, but we will consider an exceptional candidate with extensive experience in either trade.

Compensation & Benefits
U S Allied Plumbing & HVAC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Health insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid holidays
  • Performance-based compensation opportunities
  • Opportunity for advancement as the company grows

We're Looking for Someone Who Wants to Build Something
This isn't simply another management position.
We are looking for someone who wants to take responsibility for an operation, build a strong team, develop customer relationships, and help grow a successful Plumbing & HVAC business.  The right person will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the company and be rewarded as the operation grows.

If you have successfully managed Plumbing or HVAC operations and believe you have the leadership ability to take responsibility for an operation and help grow it, we want to talk with you.  U S Allied Plumbing & HVAC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
