Position Title: MISSION SUSTAINMENT OPERATIONS INTEGRATOR / SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME)

Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a position for a Mission Sustainment Operations Integrator / SME (Special Operations) managing and supporting United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and USSOCOMs subordinate commands, such as the US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) requirements. The Mission Sustainment Operations Integrator / SME Serves as the primary integration lead responsible for ensuring all Special Operation Forces (SOF) mission sustainment and operational enablement projects are executed in a coordinated, mission-focused manner in support of USASOC and its subordinate commands. Coordinates, directs, manages, and provides oversight to all project activities to ensure mission sustainment, operational enablement, and readiness objectives are achieved across all supported locations. Supports the synchronization and assessment of capabilities, technologies and solutions across multiple projects through strategic engagement in order to identify future requirements and potential shortfalls supporting USSOCOM and its subordinate units, with a primary focus on USASOC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing Special Operations logistics projects and leading cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES - MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Serves as the primary integration lead responsible for ensuring all Special Operation Forces (SOF) mission sustainment and operational enablement projects are executed in a coordinated, mission-focused manner in support of USASOC, and USSOCOMs subordinate commands and strategic partners.
  • Enables SOF readiness and continuity across CONUS and OCONUS locations by providing full spectrum logistics, sustainment, and operational services.
  • Coordinates, directs, manages, and provides oversight to all project activities to ensure mission sustainment, operational enablement, and readiness objectives are achieved across all supported locations.
  • Supports the synchronization and assessment of mission sustainment, logistics, and operational enablement capabilities, technologies and solutions across multiple projects, and combines strategic goals with capabilities through strategic engagements in order to identify future requirements and potential shortfalls supporting USSOCOM and its subordinate units.
  • Examine organizations, systems, processes, interoperability, technology, and personnel to best meet SOF mission needs.
  • Develop and implements optimized staffing plans including personnel quantities, locations, skill levels, and certifications required to support mission needs.
  • Assists in leading the planning, execution, and supports the delivery of multiple, complex mission sustainment and operational enablement projects supporting USSOCOM and its subordinate units, with a primary focus on USASOC.
  • Serves as a senior subject matter expert supporting SOF planning activities in support of deployed SOF operations while ensuring continuity of institutional knowledge across operational rotations and mission transitions.
  • Assists and provides Project Oversight; managing and coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring progress, resolving issues, and mitigating risk to ensure programs / projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Special Operations Customer and Stakeholder Management; building and maintaining strong relations with customers and stakeholders, managing customer expectations, addressing their concerns, and resolution of issues.
  • Communication and Reporting; keep customers, stakeholders and internal business senior leadership informed of program status, progress, risks and issues.
  • On Program Growth and Strategic New Business Growth Initiatives; identify, plan and pursue opportunities for on program growth, and strategic new business growth opportunities, and initiatives within the USSOCOM customer market segment in coordination, and collaboration with the Defense Growth Team.
  • Team Leadership; leading and mentoring cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, and ensuring a positive work environment.
  • Process Improvement; implementing best practices and process improvements to enhance program / project delivery.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts / Science
  • Required Experience: Five (5) + Years Management experience managing US Special Operations requirements, and projects
  • Required Technical Experience: 10 + Years experience supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) in SOF Core Mission Areas, SOF Core Operations and Logistics support (Military, Government Civilian or Industry) (USASOC experience preferred)
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret Clearance required to start
  • US Citizenship required
  • Travel Required for this Role (50 to 75%)
  • Location: Hybrid work location, Fayetteville, North Carolina

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $110,500 - $149,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
