Job Title: Human Resources Generalist

Location: Florence, AZ

Job Summary:

This role is at the center of Florence Copper's people operations. The HR Generalist is a go-to problem solver who helps make the employee experience smooth, accurate, and responsive from hire to exit. This role owns the details that keep HR running-HRIS administration, recruiting and onboarding coordination, benefits support, compliance documentation, employee records, and day-to-day employee support. The ideal candidate brings strong follow-through, sharp attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to turn moving parts into organized, reliable HR service.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Operations, Systems & Compliance

  • Keep Florence Copper's people data clean, current, and ready for action by maintaining HRIS information, employee records, compliance documentation, training records, and HR reports.
  • Act as the HR-to-payroll connector by communicating approved employee changes, including compensation, deductions, status changes, and offer-letter terms, while payroll calculation and processing remain with the payroll team.
  • Help keep HR compliant and audit-ready by supporting employment-law requirements, internal policies, record retention, HR calendars, and timely escalation of concerns.

Recruitment, Onboarding & Employee Support

  • Help bring great people into the organization by coordinating job postings, candidate communications, interview scheduling, offer letters, onboarding checklists, employment eligibility documentation, and orientation logistics.
  • Serve as a friendly, reliable first stop for routine employee and manager questions, policy guidance, and employee relations intake; document key facts and escalate complex or sensitive matters when needed.
  • Create a smoother employee experience by coordinating routine HR requests, resolving basic issues, and connecting employees and managers with the right resources.

Benefits, Leave & HR Programs

  • Support employees through benefits questions, enrollment activity, eligibility changes, routine updates, and vendor or plan escalations.
  • Keep leave processes organized by coordinating routine leave-of-absence documentation, status tracking, and escalation of complex leave matters.
  • Help power HR programs by supporting training logistics, engagement activities, HR initiatives, management reporting, and general department administration.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive HR experience in operations-focused HR work, including HR systems, employee records, recruiting or onboarding, benefits support, compliance activities, or similar functions.
  • Comfortable working in HR technology, including HRIS or comparable platforms; ATS experience preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-driven, discreet, responsive, and able to juggle multiple priorities without losing the thread.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation, reporting, audits, data management, or HR operations in an industrial, manufacturing, construction, or similarly regulated environment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of HR operations, employee records, onboarding, benefits support, compliance basics, and HR systems.
  • Ability to stay organized, spot details, protect confidentiality, and keep multiple priorities moving in a busy environment.
  • Clear, approachable communication style with the judgment to support routine employee questions and escalate sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Comfort using HR technology, reports, and data to keep work accurate, visible, and actionable.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in office and field settings within an operating industrial facility. The role may require travel throughout the SXEW Plant,Tankhouse, maintenance facilities, and operational areas; work outdoors in varying weather conditions; wear required PPE; navigate stairs, platforms, uneven terrain, and industrial work areas; and occasionally lift and carry materials consistent with normal operational and administrative duties.
