Job description

THIS POSITION IS ONLU OPEN TO FIU STUDENTS IN THE WOMEN & GENDERED STUDIES MAJOR.
Position Summary
The AI & Operations Intern will use artificial intelligence tools to design operational systems that help Girls Inc. of Greater Miami scale its mission. This is a high-impact, project-based role working directly with the COO to redesign workflows, build onboarding infrastructure, and solve real organizational challenges - using Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI tools as co-pilots. No prior coding experience required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Shadow staff to map current workflows and identify friction points
  • Redesign the expense requisition process and produce a written SOP
  • Design a 30/60/90-day onboarding experience for new Girls Inc. staff
  • Build AI-assisted resource libraries and role-specific onboarding checklists
  • Identify and solve an operational pain point of your choosing (from pre-approved list)
  • Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) as thought partners throughout all projects
  • Present completed systems to organizational leadership at end of term

Qualifications
  • Enrolled at FIU in Women's & Gender Studies or related program; seniors welcome
  • Preferred: students in WST 3700 (Introduction to FemTech) or WST 3721 (Data Literacy, Health, and Violence Prevention)
  • Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to learn - no coding required
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking skills
  • Self-directed; able to manage independent projects with mentorship
