Duties The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to HQ AF/A3OW, Air Force Operations Group (AFOG). Duties: * Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Air Force Operations Group, ensuring that the Current Operations Division complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. * Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. * Represents AF/A3OB with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing. * This position has been designated as a Key Career Position (KCP). The assignment will not be continuing and has an established tour limitation of 36-60 months as determined by the Career Field Team and Career Field Manager. Employees must sign a Memorandum of Understanding including Selection, Restriction, Outplacement, Tour and Mobility Agreement as a condition of employment. This addendum is effective 1 March 2014 and will be utilized upon incumbent's exit from the position and from that point forward whenever the position is filled. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301. Knowledge of the Department of Defense Planning, Programming, and Budgeting System (PPBS) and skills in developing cost projections, financial exhibits, unfunded requirements justifications and issues papers. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. In-depth knowledge of Air Force operations that enables the incumbent to analyze, articulate and advocate of mission objectives. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
