Job description

Dispatch Operations Manager

QQR Transport | Cincinnati Metro, OH — On-Site Only

Company Description

QQR Logistics and QQR Transport keep critical freight moving for supply chains that can't afford to stop. QQR brings disciplined execution to complex supply chains across automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace, energy, and other key industries — throughout North America and across major U.S.–Canada and U.S.–Mexico cross-border lanes.

This role is with QQR Transport, an asset-based carrier that operates its own fleet, running full-truckload (FTL) freight in dry van, bulk, and open deck modalities. QQR Transport is building its dispatch and operations team in Cincinnati, Ohio and looking for experienced logistics professionals that are ready to grow their careers.

Role Overview

The Dispatch Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role within QQR Transport, based in the Cincinnati metropolitan area. You will oversee daily dispatch operations, fleet utilization, driver performance, and customer service execution across the company fleet. Working closely with executive leadership, you'll ensure we deliver exceptional service while maximizing revenue, asset productivity, and customer satisfaction — leading a team of dispatchers, providing real-time guidance, resolving service issues, and escalating operational risk before it impacts our mission-critical customers.

This role is accountable for working with drivers, improving day-to-day processes, increasing business efficiencies, leading teams, and completing administrative processes — accomplished through tracking systems and close collaboration with other team members.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

Direct daily dispatch activities across the company fleet and lead a team of experienced dispatch professionals

Ensure efficient load planning, route optimization, and equipment utilization

Monitor and improve operational KPIs: on-time performance, loaded/empty miles, revenue per truck, detention recovery, and driver productivity

Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, profitability, and service levels

Identify bottlenecks and proactively implement process improvements

Fleet & Driver Management

Oversee driver dispatch, scheduling, and load assignments

Monitor driver performance, utilization, and compliance

Address driver concerns and operational challenges promptly

Support retention through strong driver relationships and clear communication between drivers, dispatchers, and customers

Customer & Partner Relations

Maintain strong relationships with customers, freight brokers, and strategic partners

Ensure service commitments are consistently met or exceeded

Resolve service failures and escalations professionally and efficiently

Identify opportunities for business growth and improved customer satisfaction

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, Hours-of-Service, safety regulations, and company policies.

Partner with the Safety Department to minimize risk and improve CSA performance

Monitor operational procedures to maintain regulatory and operational integrity

Strategic Planning & Analytics

Analyze freight trends, lane profitability, and market opportunities

Generate operational reports and performance dashboards for leadership review

Use data-driven decision-making to improve profitability and resource allocation

Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and capacity planning

Qualifications

Required

5+ years of experience in transportation, dispatch, fleet management, or logistics operations

3+ years of experience in leading logistics professionals and fast paced teams

Strong understanding of trucking operations, dispatch workflows, and fleet management

Proven ability to lead and develop a team while managing multiple priorities in a high-volume environment

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and relationship-building abilities

Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ELD platforms, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)

Preferred

Experience with the PCS TMS platform

Knowledge of freight brokerage operations and carrier management

Experience with cross-border (U.S.–Canada / U.S.–Mexico) freight

Experience driving operational growth and process improvement initiatives

Prior experience supporting demanding supply chains in automotive, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or energy

Associate or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, you will improve fleet utilization and efficiency, strengthen driver engagement and retention, raise on-time delivery and service performance, and build a scalable dispatch operation that supports the company's growth.
