We are looking for a talented Hospitality & Operations Director to join our dynamic team, at our Barcelona office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage the Emerald Stay operations across all destinations:
  • Oversee on-site operations in France, Switzerland and Spain; manage our Heads of Field Operations and our General Management in Corsica.
  • Oversee centralised operations and sales at our head office in Barcelona; manage our Director of Sales & Guest Relations.
  • Oversee owner relations at our head office; manage our Owner Relations Manager.
  • Oversee revenue management and distribution at our head office; manage our Head of Distribution & Revenue Management.
  • Conduct quality checks, ensuring our standards are met everywhere, all the time.
  • Stock management and amenities ordering across destinations.
  • Organise and deliver the bi-annual training of seasonal teams.

Lead operational and development projects:
  • Challenge the operational efficiency of our systems and processes, participate to prototyping solutions, and act as a change manager when required (e.g. easier access to information for on-site teams)
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives and projects.
  • Drive cross-company initiatives and projects with Jewels (i.e. companies we have acquired) operating under the brand Emerald Stay to harmonise and optimise the client experience.
  • Oversee branded elements and their consistent roll-out on site.
  • Support business-development projects as needed.
  • Lead new organic destination launches, from readiness to first guests.

Reporting & governance:
  • Own, monitor and act on the operational dashboards to steer performance across destinations.
  • Prepare the operations slides for our board meetings.

Depending on the seasonality as well as your bandwidth, skills and interest, you may be involved in other projects, in line with your qualifications.
KEY INFORMATION ON THE POSITION
  • Employment start: as soon as possible.
  • Reporting to the CEO, Laurent Lacourt.
  • Position based in Barcelona.
  • Regular travel across our destinations in France, Switzerland and Spain.
  • Employment type: full-time permanent contract.
  • You will occasionnally be on call on weekends (Manager On Duty).

    • Step 4: video interview with 2 of your future subordinates.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have solid experience leading multi-site hospitality and/or operations, ideally across several countries: at least 7 years.
  • You are an entrepreneur at heart - we expect you to be proactive and constructive at all times; you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a natural people leader who develops teams and raises the bar on quality and service. You have successfully managed teams before.
  • You have a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills. You enjoy working with others.
  • You are comfortable steering performance with data and dashboards, and strong with digital tools and AI.
  • You speak (and write) French and English fluently; Spanish is a plus.
  • You are willing to travel regularly across our destinations.
  • You hold a valid driving licence.
  • You can work in the EU without visa sponsorship.
  • A nice-to-have: you have used Mews (our PMS) and Notion before.
