About the Job
As part of Mitsubishi's Momentum 2030 plan, we are focused on expanding our retail dealer network to meet future market growth and customer demand. The business need is clear: build stronger dealer representation in high-potential, strategic markets across the United States-especially in the rapidly growing Northern region. This role plays a critical part in shaping the future of our retail footprint in the North Region.
Role Summary
As the Regional Dealer Development Manager, you will coordinate and oversee regional dealer placement activities, support prospects and site selection, and ensure new and existing dealers meet corporate requirements for management, capital, facilities, signage, and operational standards in the NorthRegion. You will develop and implement strategies to strengthen the dealer body through performance improvement programs while ensuring policy compliance and maximizing dealer network effectiveness.
As a Regional Dealer Development Manager, You Will:
  • Coordinate Regional Dealer Placement activities including the development of dealer agreement packages for new points, buy/sells, renewals, relocations, and terminations.
  • Oversee and coordinate activities related to regional dealer business management, working capital, profitability, and financial performance.
  • Manage and address compliance issues including facility, signage, flooring, and trademark requirements.
  • Develop and present new dealer and buy/sell proposals to the Franchise Committee.
  • Review dealer operations for underperforming or newly appointed dealers with Dealer Principals and Management, develop and execute launch or improvement plans, and ensure compliance with MMNA policies.
  • Implement plans and processes to improve dealer profitability and performance to achieve strategic business goals.
  • Communicate franchise activity updates and progress to Regional Management; coordinate new dealer launches with District Managers and regional teams.
  • Evaluate buy/sell opportunities and provide recommendations when applicable.
  • Meet stated deadlines while consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Measuring Your Momentum:
First 90 Days - Getting Up To Speed:
  • Familiarize yourself with Mitsubishi's 2030 network strategy and footprint goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with Regional Management and District teams.
  • Identify priority open point markets and assess current dealer performance and compliance.
  • Initiate assessments for potential new dealer candidates and begin prospecting.
  • Continuously improve Mitsubishi/MEL/MDL knowledge and presentation skills.

Year 1 Victory Lap:
  • Successfully launch new dealers in priority strategic markets aligned with the Open Point Plan.
  • Improve performance and profitability of underperforming and newly appointed dealers.
  • Drive timely dealer agreement renewals and buy/sell transitions.
  • Demonstrate measurable impact on dealer network representation, activation, and overall health.

  • 5+ years of wholesale/retail automotive experience, including experience as a District Sales Manager.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of dealer financial statements, dealership operations, and capital planning.
  • Strong ability to influence and motivate others, with exceptional verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple high-impact initiatives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Extensive travel required.
  • Must maintain a valid unconditional driver's license and MMNA-approved driving record.

Pay Transparency:
The base salary for this position ranges between $120,000 to $130,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
