Job description

Avion Solutions Inc., a 100% employee-owned company, seeks candidates for an Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Development Team Product Owner (PO) to support PAE Fires. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Responsible for the Prioritization and validation of the development software for the Engagement Operations team.

  • Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and provide guidance to the development team.

  • Work with Program Management in setting priorities for the capabilities and defects for the team for each product increment and sprint.

  • The position will include technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status and recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics required

  • A minimum of 10 years of combined Government/DoD experience required.

  • Understand Engagement Operations (EO) concepts, including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.

  • Must have the ability to provide oversight to the EO SW development team and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria.

  • Must be able to work directly with the Agile software developers.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time. US travel only.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS and familiar with current EO implementations in one or more of the DoD services.

  • Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team.
