Job description
Duties and Responsibilities of the JobÂ
(This section is not inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as necessary).Â
- Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of the HPPS lean manufacturing processes and toolsÂ
- Educate key people within the organization on the recommended approaches for continuous process improvement.Â
- Lead training to implement identified strategies for improvement. Â
- Focus on continuous improvement to eliminate short and long-term problems. Â
- Build commitment and understanding of the HPPS lean principles to accomplish the improvement goals for the organization. Â
- Assist in the development of the Value Stream Maps. Â
- Facilitate the setting of priorities, objectives, goals, measures and metrics for process improvement projects, ensuring that these are monitored and controlled. Â
- Ensure that a project plan is developed and agreed for each VSMÂ Â
- Specify the appropriate lean process improvement methodologies and tools. Â
- Work with shop floor managers to plan and lead improvement projects. Â
- Involve management in improvement projects in an effort to eliminate barriers to team success. Â
- Provide guidance to sustain improvement changes. Â
- Communicate lessons learned and best practices from improvement skills preferred to perform the jobÂ
- Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required to support team objectives.Â
- Required to adhere to applicable TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.Â
- Required to adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety Regulations.Â
Educational RequirementsÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering Â
- 5 years’ experience in a Lean Manufacturing leadership roleÂ
- Experience in the application of Industrial Engineering principles and concepts are desired, preferably with Time & Motion studies.Â
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.Â
- Formal training/certification in lean manufacturing. Â
- Experience of facilitating and training a technical work force. Â
- Strong ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and worldwide entities.Â
- Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing tools in a manufacturing environment. Â
- Strong knowledge of MRP and Microsoft Office software and particularly spreadsheet applications.Â
- Detail orientated. Â
- Strong ability to work independently.Â
- Ability to travel as needed.Â
