Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing relationships with new clients and driving new sales growth in the water and wastewater sectors within the Northeastern US. Job duties include prospecting, lead generation, proposal writing, negotiations, and developing client solutions. This BDM role will focus primarily on driving the growth of the company’s business and supporting sales activities in other US regions where leveraged. To do so, the BDM will employ best practices and the experience of the Company to solve customers’ challenges, execute sales strategies, support corporate growth initiatives, work with practice leaders to develop new solutions for existing clients, and create new business opportunities with new customers. Hydromax USA is seeking a self-motivated business development professional who can identify sound business opportunities and develop the strategies, tactics and actions needed to bring them to fruition--a person who has the desire to grow personally and professionally. This role will report to the VP of Water and Wastewater Solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and implementation of innovative sales strategies

  • Actively call on utilities in the assigned region using a consultative sales approach to understand client needs, goals, and challenges. 

  • Use unique approaches to solve problems, share proven best practice solutions, tailor programs for specific customer needs, and assist customers in lowering operating costs, reducing risk, and improving customer service levels.

  • Work closely with technical staff, sales team, and strategic partners to develop growth strategies.

  • Provide analysis of markets, trends, competition, portfolios, technologies, and revenues.

  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including calls, communications, presentations, proposals, and submittals, close sales, and follow-up activities using Hydromax USA’s CRM.

  • Attend and speak at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to maintain a high level of visibility and better understand market challenges.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5 years’ experience in selling services or complex solutions to municipalities

  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry preferred

  • Bachelor of Science; Engineering or technical degree preferred but not a must.

  • Technology background (civil engineering, network management, asset management, GIS, smart networks, smart metering, etc.) is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated track record of revenue generation in the water/wastewater industry

  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record

  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment

  • Ability to communicate with directors, asset managers, engineers, and operations team members

  • Highly organized, goal oriented, self-starter with effective communication skills, including active listening, technical proposal/report writing, client presentations and workshops facilitation

  • Demonstrated track record of revenue generation in the water/wastewater industry

  • Up to 50-80% weekly travel required, including flying and driving to meetings

Pay:

  • $ Range of $90,000 - $130,000 base, plus commission DOE
