Job Summary
The (MRO) Maintenance Repair & Operations Buyer I, is primarily responsible for the requisition, procurement and inventory of products and services used to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment. This position will also collaborate with other departments within the company to source materials that support companywide initiatives.
Responsibilities and Tasks
• Receive requests for parts, tools and services and generate requisitions.
• Request RMA's and quotes from suppliers and vendors.
• Request packer shippers and prepare items for delivery to outside vendors for repairs and calibration.
• Receive and distribute incoming orders to the technical team, update inventory levels based on received goods.
• Generate requisitions for low stock parts and consumable items flagged by the CMMS.
• Create and populate new parts records within the CMMS.
• Perform analysis of vending stock items to ensure min/max quantities are appropriate, make suggestions on adding or removing items based off usage.
• Maintain departments non-production orders and expenditures tracker to aid department manager in annual budgeting.
• Perform regular inventory level checks.
• Research alternate parts and tools based off of non-availability from normal suppliers.
• Other administrative tasks as required.
Education, Experience & License or Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills and Abilities
• This role has a large mix of both hands-on activities and office related work. Comfort with both aspects is a must. This role requires a strong get-it-done mentality.
• Ability to follow a routine standard work of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks while also being able to think out of the box and successfully overcome ambiguity when it arises
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and also a leader of small teams to accomplish improvement targets.
• Communication Skills: Ability to speak, listen and write well.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).
• Must be able to learn the use of specialized devices such as sign printer, label makers, laminator. Must be comfortable using a computer and learning new devices.
• Must be able to act in a safe manner and comply with all company safety policies.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
