Job Description:
Position Title or Job Classification: Machining Programmer
Business Unit: Terex Utilities
Location: Huron, SD- Relocation Available*
Position Description: This position supports Utilities Operations by working closely with manufacturing engineers. By utilizing experience, knowledge of the business, hands on skill, and creativity this position will help production areas meet or exceed the customer demand. This includes but not limited to improving safety, reducing cycle times, eliminating quality issues, and reducing costs.
Responsibilities:
  • Ability to safely and efficiently program and operate a variety of CNC equipment.
  • Review CAD models / blueprints
  • Define the best sequence of machining steps
  • Decide tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures to be used
  • Generate program code using CAM software
  • Conduct quality testing and correct/improve program code to increase efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Own improvement projects to make positive changes that are aligned with the companies' objectives.
  • Participate in problem solving activities - Engage in conversation around problems to help come up with the best possible solution.
  • Engage in Team meetings
  • Use cost analysis tools and other priority setting tools to aid in prioritizing projects
  • Use project tracker and MDI meetings to engage other resources as needed.
  • Implement creative solutions to make improvements and eliminate waste
  • Work closely with ME staff to ensure products are meeting requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 Year Associates Degree (Programming and/or Robotics preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years related work
  • Experience with GibbsCam or Mastercam preferred

Physical Requirements of the Job
  • Physical requirements of the job are classified as medium to heavy. Physical demand requirements are in excess of light work. Medium to heavy work is defined as:
  • 10 to 40 pounds of force frequently, may include pushing, pulling and lifting

The compensation range for this position is $30.00 to $40.00 hourly. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
