Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager serves as the full‑charge leader of the company’s accounting function, responsible for managing the entire accounting cycle, supervising accounting staff, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations across multi‑state drilling activities. This role provides direct financial leadership, oversees daily accounting operations, and partners closely with field operations and corporate leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team.

• Oversee daily workflow, task assignments, and performance management.

• Maintain internal controls, accounting procedures, and departmental standards.

FullCycle Accounting Ownership

• Manage AP, AR, payroll, GL, month‑end close, and financial reporting.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Maintain General Ledger integrity, journal entries, and reconciliations.

• Direct cash‑flow management to support daily operational funding.

Cost Accounting & Operational Finance

• Analyze job cost reports and explain cost variances to leadership.

• Conduct cost analysis on drilling operations (bits, rods, casing, consumables).

• Evaluate inventory usage and costs; recommend GL adjustments.

• Support procurement and inventory control to improve efficiency.

Compliance, Audits & Controls

• Ensure compliance with U.S. tax regulations, permits, and licensing.

• Lead internal and external audits (financial, 401(k), government).

• Perform internal audit activities to ensure adherence to IFRS standards.

• Maintain accurate financial and operational records.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

• Lead operational and CAPEX budget preparation.

• Support financial forecasting and long‑range planning.

• Prepare financial and operational reports, including gross margin and expenditure analysis.

• Provide financial insights to support strategic decision‑making.

Education, Experience & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience, preferably in mining, drilling, or industrial operations.

• Demonstrated experience leading and developing an accounting team.

• Experience with Blackfox software.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics financial systems.

• Experience with ADP payroll and workforce management platforms.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting, job costing, and multi‑state operations.
