Job description

Silgan Containers is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our Waukesha, WI team. In this role, you will partner with Operations and Plant Finance to ensure financial accuracy, strengthen controls, assist with compliance, and improve accounting processes across a multi-site manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

  • Manage manufacturing and operations accounting activities, including inventory, costing, fixed assets, leases, and general accounting processes

  • Partner with Operations and Plant Finance to evaluate financial results and identify trends.

  • Oversee month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and review of financial performance to ensure accuracy and support business objectives

  • Maintain SOX compliance, internal control effectiveness, audit readiness, and public company reporting standards

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for JD Edwards (JDE) accounting processes and system controls

  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, FP&A, and Plant management to improve financial transparency and consistency

  • Coach, and develop accounting team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement

  • Drive process improvements focused on accuracy, efficiency, standardization, and scalability

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and financial reporting

  • Experience working within SOX-controlled or publicly traded company environments

  • Demonstrated management, coaching, or team development experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) or similar ERP systems
